Lizzy Caplan has been cast in FX’s upcoming television adaptation of Ubisoft’s popular ‘Far Cry’ video game franchise, joining previously announced star and executive producer Rob Mac in the anthology series created by Noah Hawley.

A post announcing the casting read: “SOME PEOPLE DON’T SURVIVE THE CHAOS. SOME PEOPLE BECOME IT. Emmy Award nominee Lizzy Caplan joins Rob Mac in FX’s FARCRY, the upcoming anthology series based on Ubisoft’s iconic video game franchise. The cast just got a lot more dangerous. ”

Details about Caplan’s role have not been disclosed. The project will feature an original story rather than adapt a specific game, while maintaining the franchise’s anthology format. Each season will introduce a new setting and a new group of characters, reflecting the structure that has defined the long-running video game series since its debut in 2004.

Hawley, whose previous credits include Fargo and Alien: Earth, serves as creator, showrunner and executive producer. Rob Mac also executive produces through More Better Productions. Additional executive producers include Simon Emanuel, Emilia Serrano, Nick Frenkel, Monica Macer, Peter Calloway, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin and Austin Dill. The series is produced by FX Productions in association with Ubisoft Film & Television.

No premiere date has been announced. When released, Far Cry will air on FX and stream on Hulu in the United States, with Disney+ carrying the series internationally.
