Justin Bieber has been added as a co-headliner for the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, expanding an already high-profile lineup for the championship match on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

FIFA announced that Bieber will perform alongside Madonna, Shakira and BTS during the 11-minute production, marking a historic first for the men’s World Cup final. The show is being produced in partnership with Global Citizen and curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Bieber welcomed the opportunity in a statement, saying, “The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.” Additional performers include Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus from Staten Island and Coldplay, while characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets are also scheduled to appear.

The halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to expand access to education and football programs for children worldwide. Organizers have said proceeds from ticket sales will contribute to the initiative, with Global Citizen describing the event as one of the largest entertainment showcases ever staged during a sporting event. Shakira and Burna Boy are also expected to perform their official World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai,” during the celebration.

Bieber’s addition follows several recent high-profile appearances, including announcing the Toronto Maple Leafs’ first selection at the NHL Draft and releasing live recordings from his 2026 Coachella performances. FIFA expects the inaugural halftime show to attract a massive global television audience as it introduces a Super Bowl-style entertainment format to the World Cup final for the first time.
