Amazon MGM Studios has released the first teaser trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair, offering an early look at Michael B. Jordan’s reimagining of the classic heist romance. The film follows the 1968 original version, starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, as well as the 1999 remake led by Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
Jordan stars as the wealthy and enigmatic Thomas Crown while also directing and producing the film, marking his second feature behind the camera following Creed III. The teaser highlights a blend of high-end action, suspense and romance as Crown carries out daring art thefts while staying one step ahead of those trying to stop him.
Adria Arjona co-stars as the sharp investigator whose pursuit of Crown gradually evolves into a romantic relationship, reviving the cat-and-mouse dynamic that defined earlier versions of the story. The footage showcases elaborate museum break-ins, rooftop climbs, high-speed chases and international locations while teasing a more contemporary interpretation of the character. Rather than stealing simply for excitement, this version of Crown appears motivated by reclaiming valuable artifacts that were taken from their original owners, giving the familiar premise a new narrative direction.
The ensemble cast also includes Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, Ruth Negga and Aiysha Hart. Jon Batiste composed the film’s score, continuing the production’s emphasis on style and sophistication. Jordan previously said he wanted to create “a reimagination” instead of a straightforward remake, preserving the glamour and romance of the earlier films while updating the story for modern audiences.
The new film is scheduled to open exclusively in theaters on March 5, 2027; see the trailer: HERE.
