Netflix has released the official trailer for Season 2 of Leanne, offering a preview of the next chapter in comedian Leanne Morgan’s hit sitcom as the title character continues rebuilding her life after an unexpected divorce. The new season premieres Aug. 27 and follows Leanne as she navigates dating in her 60s, adjusts to caring for her aging parents under one roof and leans on the unwavering support of her sister, Carol, played by Kristen Johnston. The trailer highlights the show’s blend of heartfelt family moments and Morgan’s signature Southern humor.

Co-created and executive produced by Morgan, Chuck Lorre and Susan McMartin, the series is inspired by Morgan’s stand-up comedy and centers on a grandmother whose husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. Season 2 expands on that fresh start while introducing new personal and family challenges. Johnston recently described the new episodes as balancing comedy with emotional moments, while Morgan has said the series continues to celebrate resilience and finding joy through life’s unexpected turns.

Returning cast members include Morgan, Johnston, Ryan Stiles, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Graham Rogers, Hannah Pilkes, Jayma Mays and Tim Daly. The upcoming season also features guest appearances from country star Lainey Wilson, Jaime Pressly and Billy Gardell. After becoming one of Netflix’s strongest comedy launches following its 2025 debut and earning a quick renewal, the sophomore season will consist of 10 episodes, slightly fewer than the first season’s 16-episode run.
