NBC is expanding The Voice franchise with a celebrity-focused competition that will feature actors, musicians, athletes, comedians, influencers and reality television personalities competing for the title instead of undiscovered singers. The network announced that Keke Palmer will host The Voice: Celebrity, while Joe Jonas will make his coaching debut alongside Queen Latifah and Riley Green. The new edition is scheduled to premiere in spring 2027 as the franchise’s 31st season.

Palmer succeeds longtime host Carson Daly, who has fronted the series since its 2011 debut. Although he is stepping away from hosting duties, Daly will remain involved with the program as a producer. Palmer, whose television résumé includes hosting NBC’s Password and starring in projects such as Nope and True Jackson, VP, takes over as the franchise introduces one of its biggest format changes to date.

The celebrity edition will retain the show’s signature Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds and coaching format while adding several behind-the-scenes elements. New features include “Voice Boot Camp,” offering a look at contestants preparing for their Blind Auditions, a “VIP Room” where competitors can watch performances together, and a “Workroom” that follows artists as they get ready for the Battle Rounds. The series will feature celebrities from a variety of entertainment and sports backgrounds competing rather than aspiring recording artists.

The announcement also extends the roles of Queen Latifah and Riley Green, who are set to debut as coaches on The Voice’s milestone 30th season this fall alongside Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine. Jonas will join Latifah and Green for the celebrity installment, marking his first appearance as a coach on the franchise. Season 30 premieres Sept. 21, before the celebrity edition arrives next spring.
